Q. What about the
safety of Canadian medications?
A. Canadian drug manufacturing and pharmacy safety standards are equal to, and often surpass all international standards. Canadian medications are regulated by the Federal Department of Health, which ensures the safety of the drugs manufactured in Canada, as well as the distribution of medications to pharmacies. Local Government Agencies regulate and ensure safety practices of licensed pharmacies in each province. Most Canadian medications are the identical products manufactured by the same pharmaceutical company's plant, often never opened, shipped to you in their original sealed containers. |

Q. Why are there
some differences in the drugs from Canada?
A. Sometimes the pharmaceutical companies choose to use different names for the identical drug in different countries for marketing reasons. Occasionally the same drug with the same ingredients might be issued in capsule form in one country, but available in tablets in another. Also, the items may be packaged in various types of containers, or with a different number of pills per package. |
