Why is Inflamax prescribed?

Inflamax (Diclofenac sodium) is a combination medication used to relieve pain in joints, sprains muscles, and after surgery.

What does it do?

It temporary reduces pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis.

How should I take it?

Apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily for adults on the painful area. For children under 15 years old consult your doctor.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose of Inflamax, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double dose.

What are the special precautions before taking Inflamax?

Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking, your current and previous medical history.

To ensure Diclofenac is safe for you, inform your doctor if you have:

  • Asthma
  • A smoking habit
  • Liver or kidney problems
  • Heart disease
  • A history of stomach ulcers or bleeding

Do not use this product with other medicines containing diclofenac, unless advised by your doctor.

Does it have any side effects?

Discontinue use of Inflamax and seek immediate medical attention if you experience a severe drug reaction or allergic reaction to diclofenac.

Stop using Diclofenac and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following:

  • Heart or blood pressure medications, including diuretics or "water pills"
  • Other forms of Diclofenac (such as Pennsaid, Voltaren Gel)
  • Other NSAIDs, including Aspirin, Naproxen (Aleve), Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Celecoxib (Celebrex), and others
This is not a full list, and other medications, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements, may interact with diclofenac. Not all potential drug interactions are included here.

How should I store it?

Store Inflamax below 25°C., away from moisture and heat. Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

This medication is for external use only. If you experience any itching, redness to the area, seek medical help immediately or go to the emergency room right away. Use only on healthy skin.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Avoid taking diclofenac from first 6 weeks of pregnancy onwards unless advised by your healthcare provider. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant so they can determine if diclofenac is appropriate for you.

Diclofenac can pass into breast milk. Let your healthcare provider know if you are breastfeeding or intend to, as they will advise whether it's safe to use diclofenac during this time.
