Why is Bryhali Lotion prescribed?

Bryhali Lotion (Halobetasol propionate) is used to treat various skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, rashes, and dermatitis.

What does it do?

Bryhali Lotion (Halobetasol propionate) helps to reduce swelling, itching, and redness associated with these conditions. It is a highly potent (super-high potency) corticosteroid medication.

How should I take it?

Do not ingest Bryhali or use it intravaginally. It is for external use only on the skin. Avoid applying it to open wounds, sunburned, windburned, dry, or irritated skin. If Bryhali comes into contact with your eyes or mouth, rinse thoroughly with water.

Wash your hands before and after using Bryhali, unless you're treating the skin on your hands. Apply a thin layer of Bryhali lotion to the affected areas once a day. Gently rub it in until fully absorbed. Do not apply it to large areas of skin unless instructed by your doctor.

Do not cover the treated skin with a bandage unless your doctor advises it, as this can increase absorption and potentially lead to harmful effects.

What if I missed a dose?

Apply the lotion as soon as you remember, but if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply two doses at once.

What are the special precautions before taking Bryhali Lotion?

Before using Bryhali Lotion, inform your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have the following conditions:
  • Diabetes
  • Have a skin infection
  • Have problems with your adrenal glands or liver
  • Have had irritation or other skin reactions to steroid medications in the past

Topical corticosteroids, such as Bryhali, may increase glucose (sugar) levels in your blood or urine. Notify your doctor if you have diabetes.

Children are more likely to absorb topical corticosteroids systemically. Bryhali is not approved for use in individuals under 18 years old.

Does it have any side effects?

It is important to note that all drugs have corresponding side effects and adverse reactions. Additional information may be obtained when you ask your doctor or pharmacist.
    Common side effects may include:
  • Burning, itching, stinging, or dryness at the treated area
  • High blood sugar levels
  • Upper respiratory tract infection
    Serious side effects may include:
  • Blurred vision, eye pain, tunnel vision, or seeing halos around lights
  • Worsening of your skin condition
  • Redness, oozing, warmth, swelling, or severe irritation in treated areas
  • Possible signs of absorption through the skin, including weight gain (especially in your face, upper back, or torso), increased body hair, muscle weakness, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, slow wound healing, thinning or discoloration of the skin, mood changes, menstrual changes, or sexual changes
  • Symptoms of high blood sugar, such as increased thirst, dry mouth, frequent urination, or fruity breath odor
  • Topical corticosteroids can lead to reversible suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, potentially causing glucocorticosteroid insufficiency.

If you develop a skin infection while using Bryhali, your doctor may recommend an antimicrobial cream. If the infection persists, your doctor may stop using the medication until the infection clears and if irritation occurs, discontinue use of Bryhali. This is not a comprehensive list of potential side effects. Contact your doctor for advice regarding any side effects.

Is it safe to take it with another drug?

Bryhali is unlikely to interact with other medications you are taking. However, it should not be used in conjunction with other topical or oral corticosteroids, as this may result in an additive effect.

Be sure to inform your healthcare providers about all the medications you are using, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, as well as any vitamins and herbal products.

    How should I store it?

Store the medication in a tightly closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Avoid freezing it. Do not freeze the medicine or leave it in a car where it may be exposed to extreme temperatures. Do not puncture the canister or dispose of it in a fire, even if it is empty.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

If the medication is accidentally swallowed, seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant before using Bryhali, as its effects on a fetus are unknown.

It is also unclear whether Bryhali passes into breast milk. Systemic corticosteroids can transfer into breast milk and may cause adverse effects. It is not known if topical corticosteroids like Bryhali can have unwanted effects on breastfeeding infants. Always consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
