Why is Cerazette prescribed?

Cerazette (Desogestrel) is a progestin-only pill that is prescribed to prevent pregnancy.

What does it do?

Cerazette is a contraceptive that works in several ways such as by preventing an egg from being released from the ovaries. It also thickens the fluid (mucus) in the cervix that hinders the sperms from reaching the womb. In addition, it averts the thickening of the lining of the womb, as a result, it became unfavorable for an egg to grow in it.

How should I take it?

This should be taken orally, preferably at the same time each day. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.

What if I missed a dose?

If a dose was missed, take it immediately upon recall (if less than 12 hours late from the schedule) and take the next dose per the usual schedule. You are still protected against pregnancy. If more than 12 hours late from the usual schedule, take the tablet upon recall and take the next tablet at the usual schedule which means taking two tablets in one day. It is not harmful, continue to take the succeeding tablets as usual. No need to take the other missed doses if more than one tablet was missed, but better to take an extra method of contraception (such as a condom) for the following 7 days.

What are the special precautions before taking Cerazette?

Before taking this medication, please take note of the following precautions:

  • Inform your doctor of any medical history such as cancer (e.g., breast cancer, liver cancer), thrombosis, diabetes, epilepsy, tuberculosis, high blood pressure, and chloasma.
  • Inform you are allergic to Desogestrel and other ingredients of it.
  • Do not take this contraceptive if you have any unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Does it have any side effects?

No specific temperature storage requirement. Store in its original packaging and protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

What action should I take in case of an overdose?

Call poison control in the case of overdose. If the victim collapsed, had seizures, had trouble breathing, or was unconscious, please call emergency services immediately.

    Signs of overdose:

    • Nausea
    • Vomiting
    • Slight vaginal bleeding
    • Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

It is not recommended to take this product during pregnancy and if possibly pregnant.

Cerazette can be taken while breastfeeding as it does interfere with the product and quality of milk. While a small amount of the substance passes through the breast milk, no effects on the growth and development of children were observed (based on studies). While this can be taken during breastfeeding, it is still best to consult your doctor prior to use if you are breastfeeding.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
