Why is Duaklir Pressair prescribed?

Duaklir Pressair (Aclidinium bromide/Formoterol fumarate dihydrate) is a prescription medication used to prevent airflow blockage and decrease flare-ups in adults with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), which includes conditions like bronchitis and emphysema.

What does it do?

Duaklir Pressair contains two medications, aclidinium and formoterol. Aclidinium works by relaxing the muscles around the airways, while formoterol helps to widen the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.

How should I take it?

The usual dose of Duaklir Pressair (Aclidinium bromide/Formoterol fumarate dihydrate) is one puff every morning and night. To use the inhaler and take your dose, hold the inhaler away from your mouth and exhale fully—never exhale into the inhaler. Keep your head upright. Next, seal your lips around the mouthpiece. Take a deep, strong breath through your mouth, inhaling as deeply as you can. Avoid pressing the orange button while inhaling to ensure the inhaler works properly.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, skip it and take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses at once. Do not exceed 1 inhalation twice within a 24-hour period.

What are the special precautions before taking Duaklir Pressair?

You should not use Duaklir Pressair if you are allergic to Formoterol or Aclidinium, or if you have a severe allergy to milk proteins.

To ensure Duaklir Pressair is safe for you, inform your doctor if you have ever had:

  • Diabetes
  • Enlarged prostate or urination issues
  • Glaucoma
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Heart disease or high blood pressure
  • Seizures

Duaklir Pressair is intended only for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and should not be used to treat asthma.

Seek medical attention if your breathing problems do not improve or if your symptoms worsen rapidly.

Does it have any side effects?

Seek emergency medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction to Duaklir Pressair, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face or throat.

    Common side effects may include:
  • Back pain
  • Cold-like symptoms such as sore throat
  • Headache
    Serious side effects may include:
  • Blurred vision, eye pain or redness, or seeing halos around lights
  • Severe headache
  • Worsening breathing problems
  • Painful or frequent urination
  • Tremors or rapid/pounding heartbeats
  • High blood sugar symptoms, including increased thirst or fruity breath odor
  • Low potassium levels, leading to constipation, leg cramps, irregular heartbeats or muscle weakness
  • Wheezing, choking, or other breathing difficulties after using this medication

This is not a full list of possible side effects, and others may occur. For medical advice about side effects, contact your doctor.

Is it safe to take it with another drug?

Some drug interactions may cause serious or life-threatening reactions when administered together. Immediately inform your doctor if you are taking Duaklir Pressair with any of the following medications. Inform your doctor about all the other medications you are taking, especially:
  • Atropine
  • Beta-blockers
  • Cold or allergy medications (such as Benadryl)
  • Antifungal or antiviral medications
  • Medications for overactive bladder
  • Medications for Parkinson’s disease
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, or drugs that prolong the QT interval
  • Medications for depression, or mental illness
  • Medications for motion sickness, stomach issues, or irritable bowel syndrome
  • Other bronchodilator medications
This list is not exhaustive. Other medications, including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, and herbal products, may also interact with aclidinium and formoterol. Not all possible interactions are included in this medication guide.

How should I store it?

Store Duaklir Pressair (Aclidinium / Formoterol) at 2°-25°C. Only open the sealed bag when you're ready to use the inhaler. Keep the inhaler in a dry location.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

If you or someone else has used too much Duaklir Pressair, seek medical help immediately, contact your doctor, or emergency department.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

It is unclear how Duaklir Pressair may affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

It is unknown whether Duaklir Pressair passes into breast milk. Let your healthcare provider know if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed. They will guide you on whether it is safe to use Duaklir Pressair while breastfeeding.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
