Why is Juluca prescribed?

Juluca (Dolutegravir / Rilpivirine) is frequently prescribed for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

What does it do?

Juluca is a combination of two antiviral medications, Dolutegravir and Rilpivirine, which work together to stop the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from replicating in the body.

How should I take it?

Take Juluca (Dolutegravir/Rilpivirine) once a day as recommended dose or as exactly as directed by your doctor, and always take it with food. Regular blood tests will be required to monitor your health.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose of Juluca, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double dose.

What are the special precautions before taking Juluca

Certain medications can cause harmful or potentially dangerous interactions when taken with Juluca. Your doctor may need to adjust your treatment if you are also using any of the following:
  • Rifampin
  • St. John's wort
  • More than one dose of Dexamethasone
  • Phenobarbital, Carbamazepine, Oxcarbazepine, or Phenytoin
  • Proton pump inhibitors such as Esomeprazole, Omeprazole, or Pantoprazole
  • Dofetilide (can lead to serious complications or even death when combined with Juluca)
To ensure Juluca is safe for you, inform your doctor if you have ever had:
  • Liver problems
  • Mental health conditions
  • Or if you are taking rifabutin
  • A severe skin rash or allergic reaction to Dolutegravir or Rilpivirine
You may need to take a pregnancy test before starting treatment with Juluca. This medication may harm an unborn baby if taken at the time of conception or during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. It's important to use effective birth control and notify your doctor immediately if you become pregnant.

Does it have any side effects?

Seek medical help immediately if you experience a serious drug reaction, which may affect multiple parts of your body. Symptoms could include skin rash, fever, swollen glands, unusual bruising, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
    Serious side effects may include:
  • Anxiety or feelings of hopelessness
  • Depression, including mood changes, new sleep issues, or thoughts of self-harm
  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm
  • Liver problems, such as upper stomach pain, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice
Contact your doctor right away if you experience the symptoms listed.
    Common side effects may include:
  • Headache
  • Nausea or diarrhea
This is not a full list of side effects. Contact your doctor for further medical advice if you experience any side effects.

Is it safe to take it with another drug?

Some medications can reduce the effectiveness of Juluca when taken together. If you are using any of the following, take your Juluca dose at least 4 hours before or 6 hours after these medicines:

  • Antacids or laxatives containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum (such as Maalox, Milk of Magnesia, Mylanta, Rolaids, Tums)
  • Ulcer medication sucralfate (Carafate)
  • Vitamin or mineral supplements containing calcium or iron (you can take these with Juluca if taken with food)

For medications like Nizatidine, Famotidine, Ranitidine, or Cimetidine, take Juluca at least 4 hours before or 12 hours after them.

Not all possible interactions are included in this guide. Be sure to inform your doctor about all the medications you're currently taking or plan to start or stop.

How should I store it?

Store Juluca at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the tablets in their original container, including any moisture-absorbing packet or canister that came with it.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

If you or someone else has taken too much Juluca, seek medical attention immediately and monitoring.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Pregnancy: It's unclear whether Juluca could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Breastfeeding: Juluca can pass into breast milk. Let your healthcare provider know if you are currently breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. They will help determine whether it is safe to use Juluca while breastfeeding, as there may be risks associated with breastfeeding while taking this medication and living with HIV.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
