Why is Nexlizet prescribed?

Nexlizet (Bempedoic acid/Ezetimibe) is typically prescribed to reduce the risk of heart attack and on certain heart procedures, such as stent placement or bypass surgery helps to open blocked arteries, in individuals with heart disease or those at high risk for heart disease and to reduce LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels in people with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic condition that affects the body's ability to remove cholesterol from the blood.

What does it do?

Nexlizet lowers cholesterol by reducing its production in the liver, promoting the breakdown of LDL ‘bad’ cholesterol, and blocking the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines. While Ezetimibe blocks the absorption of cholesterol.

How should I take it?

Only take Nexlizet if it has been prescribed by your doctor and the usual dose is once a day. Follow the prescribed dosage instructions. Do not cut, crush, or chew the Nexlizet tablets.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember yet if it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time.

What are the special precautions before taking Nexlizet?

Before starting Nexlizet, discuss your medical history with your doctor. Nexlizet may not be suitable for you if you have certain health conditions or other factors that could affect your well-being. These include:

Gout: Nexlizet may increase uric acid levels, which can lead to gout. If you have a history of gout, you may be at higher risk while taking Nexlizet. Be sure to inform your doctor if you experience sudden pain, swelling, redness, or a change in color in your joints while on the medication. If these symptoms occur, your doctor may prescribe treatments to help lower your uric acid levels.

Tendon problems:Your risk of this side effect may be increased if you have a history of tendon problems. Before starting Nexlizet, inform your doctor if you've had tendon issues in the past. In such cases, they may suggest an alternative treatment to manage your cholesterol levels.

Kidney problems: Your risk for this side effect may be increased if you have kidney issues, such as kidney failure. If you have kidney problems, consult your doctor to determine if Nexlizet is safe for you to use.

Liver problems: Nexlizet may cause elevated liver enzymes, which could indicate liver dysfunction. If you have liver issues, such as liver failure, taking Nexlizet may worsen these conditions. Discuss with your doctor whether it is safe for you to use Nexlizet if you have liver problems.

Allergic reaction: If you have had an allergic reaction to Nexlizet or any of its ingredients, you should not take this medication. Talk to your doctor about alternative treatments that may be more suitable for you.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
