Why is Nuvaring prescribed?

Nuvaring, a combination of Ethinyl estradiol and Etonogestrel, is a vaginal ring used for contraception.

What does it do?

Ethinyl estradiol is classified as an estrogen receptor agonist that works by preventing ovulation (release of the egg) during the menstrual cycle. It also changes the vaginal fluid to prevent fertilization and prevents the attachment of the fertilized egg to the uterus. Etonogestrel, on the other hand, prevents the release of a certain hormone (luteinizing hormone) which regulates ovulation. In combination, both drugs work for contraception.

How should I use it?

Nuvaring (Etonogestrel/Ethinyl estradiol) is currently available as a 0.120mg/0.015mg vaginal ring, which is directly inserted into the vagina and left there for several weeks.

The dosage strength and frequency depend on every patient’s condition and the doctor’s prescription. It is imperative that you do not self-medicate and only take this drug after consulting with your doctor or pharmacist to determine the best dosage and dosing schedule for the treatment of your condition.

What if I missed a dose?

The desired effects of prescribed medications will only be achieved if taken properly. As much as possible, strictly follow your doctor’s prescribed dosing schedule. However, if you miss a dose, take it immediately and adjust the time of your next dose depending on your doctor’s advice. Never take two doses at the same time just to make up for your missed dose.

What are the special precautions before taking Nuvaring?

Avoid smoking or the intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice while using this medication.

Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking. Discuss your current and previous medical history and any allergic reactions to Nuvaring or any other ingredients included in the manufacture of this medication.

Inform your doctor if you had any form of surgery or if you are planning to get one.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Turkey, and Singapore.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
