Why is Tudorza Pressair prescribed?
Tudorza Pressair, with generic name Aclidinium bromide, is an oral inhalation prescription drug that is indicated in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for their maintenance treatment.
What does it do?
A combination of bronchitis and emphysema can be described as a lung disease called COPD. It is characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing and difficulty breathing. Aclidinium facilitates the relaxation of the muscles around the airways which helps patients breathe better. Although Tudorza Pressair may relieve the symptoms of COPD, it is important to note that it does not cure the disease.
How should I use it?
Tudorza Pressair comes in a 40mcg Inhaler. Each type of inhaler has its set of instructions regarding its priming, usage, and cleaning. Rinse your mouth after inhalation to prevent infections of the mouth and pharynx. Make sure to follow the directions and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
If you are using another type of inhaler, ask your doctor first if it would not interact with Tudorza Pressair. If it is safe to use together, allow a 15-minute interval before administering another drug.
Self-medication is not recommended. Consult a physician or pharmacist to determine the appropriate medication, dose and dosing schedule for your condition. Immediately inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.
What if I missed a dose?
Strictly follow your prescribed dosing schedule to achieve the desired effect and optimal result of this drug. If you miss a dose, administer it immediately. However, if it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and proceed with the regular dosing schedule. Do not administer a double dose to make up for a missed dose, unless told otherwise.
What are the special precautions before taking Tudorza Pressair?
Tudorza Pressair is intended as a maintenance treatment for COPD and is not recommended for the initial treatment of acute bronchospasm.
