Why is Aprinox prescribed?

Aprinox are used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and oedema (fluid retention). They are also prescribed to stop breast milk production.

What does it do?

Aprinox (Bendroflumethiazide) works by helping the kidneys eliminate excess salt and water, which reduces fluid in the blood vessels and tissues. This helps lower blood pressure and decrease swelling. Additionally, it relaxes blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood, and prevents excessive salt retention, which can contribute to high blood pressure and fluid buildup.

How should I take it?

Always take your medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you’re unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Commonly prescribed doses are as follows, though your doctor may adjust them based on your individual needs:

  • High blood pressure: Typically, 2.5 mg once daily in the morning. Higher doses are rarely needed.
  • Fluid retention: Starting dose is 5 to 10 mg daily or every other day. Maintenance dose is 5 to 10 mg one to three times a week.
  • Suppression of breast milk: Usually 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg at midday for about five days.
  • Children: The dose depends on the child’s weight. Starting dose is up to 400mcg per kg of body weight, with a maintenance dose of 50-100mcg per kg of body weight. Your doctor will specify the correct dosage.
  • Elderly: The dose may need to be lowered in older patients, particularly if there is a risk of salt imbalance in the blood.
  • Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose for you or your child.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, simply take the next dose at your usual time. Do not take two doses at once.

What are the special precautions before taking Aprinox?

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
