Betoptic Eye drops (Betaxolol Hydrochloride) consist of active ingredient betaxolol hydrochloride, which belongs to class of drug that is known as "beta-adrenergic blocking agents". Betoptic prescribed due to the pressure in your eyes (intraocular pressure) is higher than the normal and this pressure can cause damage to eyesight and may lead to glaucoma.

Why is Betoptic Eye drops prescribed?

Betoptic Eye (Betaxolol Hydrochloride) eye drops works by reducing the amount of fluid that is produced by eyes. Be advised that Betoptic only helps to control your glaucoma, and it does not cure.

Take as soon as you remember but skip the dose if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not double dose to catch up to your missed dose.

What are the special precautions before taking Betoptic?

Betaxolol is absorbed systemically like other topically applied ophthalmic agents and due to beta-blocking component, betaxolol; cardiovascular, pulmonary and other adverse reactions seen with systemic beta-adrenergic blocking agents may occur. Best to consult your doctor or pharmacists before use of eye drop if you have any of this condition.

  • Other medications to treat mental illness
  • How should I store it?

Keep the eye drop upright and store below 30° C. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

An ocular overdose may be flushed from eyes with lukewarm water. In case of ingestion, call immediate medical attention to prevent complications.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Betoptic eye drop should not be used during pregnancy unless necessary. If administered until the delivery, the newborn should be closely monitored.

Beta-blockers pass into breast milk and may cause harmful effects to the baby. On the contrary, at therapeutic doses of betaxolol in eye drops an adequate amount would be produced in breast milk for clinical symptoms.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
