Catapres (Clonidine) is prescribed to treat high blood pressure. It can be used alone or in combination with other anti-hypertensive medications by lowering the blood pressure, it prevents other severe conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems.

Catapres belong to a class of drugs called central alpha agonists also called antihypertensive. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, as a result, the blood flows more easily through the body and the heart beats more slowly.
