Why is Diclectin prescribed?

Diclectin (Pyridoxin) is a medication in the antinauseant class, used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

What does it do?

This medication is used to treat nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It contains two ingredients, doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride, which target the brain centers responsible for controlling these symptoms.

How should I take it?

Take Diclectin orally, following the recommended dose of 2 tablets at bedtime. Swallow the tablets whole; do not chew, divide, or crush them.

For optimal effectiveness, this medication should be taken 4 to 6 hours before it is needed (e.g., in anticipation of morning sickness) and should be taken daily.

What if I missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then resume your regular schedule. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your usual dosing routine. Do not take two doses to make up for a missed one.

What are the special precautions before taking Diclectin?

Inform your doctor about all the medications you are taking, your current and previous medical history.

Do not take this medication if you:

  • Are at risk of experiencing an asthma attack
  • Have narrow-angle glaucoma
  • Have a peptic ulcer (stomach ulcer)

  • Are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (e.g., certain Linezolid, Selegiline, Antidepressants, Methylene blue)
  • Are allergic to Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Doxylamine succinate, or any other ingredients in the medication

Drowsiness/Reduced alertness: This medication may cause drowsiness or reduced alertness. If this happens, do not drive or engage in activities that require full attention. Alcohol and other medications can increase the drowsiness caused by this medication.

  • A monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) [e.g., linezolid (an antibiotic), methylene blue (a diagnostic dye).
  • Antimuscarinic drugs (used to treat various conditions such as bowel, bladder, or respiratory disorders, Parkinson's disease, certain heart conditions, and insomnia).

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
