Why is Eucrisa Ointment prescribed?

Eucrisa (Crisaborole) is approved for the topical treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in adults and children aged 3 months and older.

What does it do?

The medication is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor that helps reduce skin inflammation and itching caused by eczema.

How should I take it?

Apply a thin layer of Eucrisa to the affected areas twice daily. Eucrisa is for external use only and should not be used in the mouth, eyes, or vaginally.

What if I missed a dose?

If you forget to apply Eucrisa at your scheduled time, apply it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed application and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply Eucrisa more frequently than prescribed.

What are the special precautions before taking Eucrisa ointment?

Your healthcare provider needs to know if you have any of the following conditions:
  • Are breastfeeding
  • Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • An unusual or allergic reaction to crisaborole, other medications, or preservatives

Eucrisa is for topical use only and should not be applied to areas such as your eyes, mouth, or vagina.

Be sure to wash your hands after applying Eucrisa, unless the prescribed treatment area is your hand(s).

Does it have any side effects?

It is important to note that all drugs have corresponding side effects and adverse reactions. Additional information may be obtained when you ask your doctor or pharmacist.
    Common side effects may include:

Side effects that typically do not require medical attention (but should be reported if they persist)

  • Mild skin irritation, dryness, or redness
    Serious side effects may include:

Side effects that should be reported to your healthcare team immediately:

  • Allergic reactions, such as skin rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face or throat
  • Crusting, burning, itching, or peeling of the treated skin

This list may not include all possible side effects. Contact your doctor for medical advice about any side effects.

Is it safe to take it with another drug?

Interactions are not anticipated. Avoid using any other skin products on the affected area without consulting your healthcare team. This list may not include all potential interactions. Provide your healthcare provider with a list of all medications you are using.

How should I store it?

Keep the tube tightly closed. Store it at room temperature, between 20 and 25°C (68 and 77°F).

What action should I take in case of overdose?

If you believe you have taken an overdose of this medicine, you can simply wipe it off or immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Pregnancy: It is unclear whether Eucrisa could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Breastfeeding: It is unknown whether Eucrisa passes into breast milk. Let your healthcare provider know if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. They will guide you on whether it's safe to use Eucrisa while breastfeeding.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
