While symptoms of adrenal insufficiency may not always be apparent, you might experience low blood pressure, nausea or vomiting, weakness, fatigue, or a lack of energy.

Does it have any side effects?

Treatment with Kerendia can lead to serious side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience:

High Potassium Level (Hyperkalemia). This medication can lead to elevated potassium levels, which can be serious and potentially fatal. Your doctor may monitor your potassium levels, particularly if you are taking specific other medications.

Severe Allergic Reactions. Discontinue Kerendia and seek immediate assistance if you experience any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.

• Fever
• Swollen lymph nodes
• Throat tightness
• Hives
• Joint pain
• Racing heart

• Wheezing
Common side effects may include:
• Blurred vision

Is it safe to take it with another drug?

Always inform your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medications, vitamins and minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are taking.

Specifically, be sure to discuss any of the following before starting Kerendia:
• Amiloride (Midamor), Eplerenone (Inspra), Triamterene (Dyrenium), or Spironolactone (Aldactone), all of which are diuretics commonly referred to as water pills.
• An angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, such as Enalapril or Lisinopril, is a medication used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and specific kidney issues.
• An Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), such as Losartan or Valsartan, is a medication used to manage high blood pressure, heart failure, and various other heart conditions.
• A direct renin inhibitor, such as Aliskiren (Tekturna), is a medication used to treat high blood pressure.
• Any medication that contains potassium, including penicillin G potassium or potassium chloride.
• A supplement or salt substitute that contains potassium.
• Any other medication or supplement that may raise potassium levels.

Certain medications should not be used in conjunction with this medicine. Your treatment plan may need to be adjusted if you are also taking:

• Antifungal medicine- Itraconazole, Posaconazole, Voriconazole; or
• Antiviral medicine for HIV or hepatitis C- Boceprevir, Dasabuvir, Cobicistat, Indinavir, Elvitegravir
• Lopinavir/Ritonavir, Ombitasvir, Nelfinavir, Paritaprevir Saquinavir, Tipranavir, Telaprevir
• Nefazodone
• The antibiotics Clarithromycin or Telithromycin

How should I store it?

Kerendia should be stored at room temperature, in a cool and dry place. Keep out of the reach of children.

What action should I take in case of overdose?

If an overdose is suspected, stop Kerendia treatment immediately. The most common symptom of an overdose is hyperkalemia. If hyperkalemia occurs, standard treatment should be initiated.

Is it safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Kerendia should not be used during pregnancy unless the woman's clinical condition necessitates treatment with finerenone.

It is unclear whether Kerendia passes into breast milk. You should avoid breastfeeding while taking Kerendia and for one day after completing treatment. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed. They will advise you on whether to discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking Kerendia..
