Why is Nasacort AQ prescribed?

Triamcinolone (Nasacort AQ) is prescribed for the relief of symptoms caused by hay fever or other allergies. These symptoms include stuffy, itchy, or runny nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes which interfere with normal daily activities.

What does it do?

Hay fever or allergic rhinitis is caused by exposure to allergens in the environment. Allergens are substances such as pollen, dust mites, or animal fur, that cause allergic reactions. The symptoms of hay fever are similar to a common cold however, hay fever is not caused by a virus.

Classified as a corticosteroid, Triamcinolone which works by inhibiting the release of cells and substances that cause inflammation and allergy symptoms in the body. This reduces the body’s response to allergens and prevents allergy symptoms from occurring.

How should I use it?

Nasacort AQ is available as a 55mcg inhaler intended for nasal inhalation use only. Each inhaler contains 120 doses of the medication.

Always follow the directions given by your doctor when using Nasacort AQ. Your doctor will make adjustments to your dosage as necessary.

When using Nasacort AQ for the first time, you should prime the bottle first before using it. You should also prime it again if you have not used it for more than two weeks.

To prime Nasacort AQ inhaler:

    1. Remove the cap.

    2. Shake the bottle gently.

    3. Press and release the spray nozzle until a fine mist comes out. Do not hold the bottle towards your face.

When using Nasacort AQ inhaler:

    1. Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils before using the inhaler.

    2. Remove the cap and shake the bottle gently.

3.Hold the bottle with your thumb underneath and the spray nozzle between your fingers.

    4. Use your finger from your other hand to press down on one nostril to hold it closed.

    5. Place the tip of the spray nozzle into the other nostril and point it towards the back of your nose. Do not insert the tip too deep and do not point the tip towards the nasal septum (wall between your two nostrils).

    6. While sniffing gently, spray the medication into the nostril.

    7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 into the other nostril.

    8. Wipe the spray nozzle with a tissue and put back the cap.

Wait for at least 15 minutes before blowing your nose after using the inhaler.

Do not share your Nasacort AQ inhaler with anyone else to prevent the spread of germs or disease.

Always consult your doctor about any concerns you may have when using Nasacort AQ.

What if I missed a dose?

The desired effects of prescribed medications will only be achieved if taken properly. As much as possible, strictly follow your doctor’s prescribed dosing schedule. However, if you miss a dose, take it immediately and adjust the time of your next dose depending on your doctor’s advice. Never take two doses at the same time just to make up for your missed dose.

What are the special precautions before using Nasacort AQ?

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Triamcinolone, any component of Nasacort AQ, or any other medications.

Inform your doctor if you are currently using other steroid medications for allergies, rashes, or asthma.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Turkey, and Singapore.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
