Why is Nurtec ODT prescribed?

Nurtec ODT (Rimegepant) is often used to treat the following conditions.
  • Treatment of migraines, with or without aura. An aura can occur before or during a migraine and may include sensory disturbances such as seeing flashing lights or zigzag patterns, difficulty speaking, or a tingling sensation.
  • Prevention of episodic migraines, which are defined as migraine attacks occurring between 1 and 14 times per month.
  • What does it do?

Nurtec ODT works by inhibiting a substance in the brain known as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), which plays a role in headache pain and can prolong migraines. By blocking CGRP, Nurtec ODT helps prevent and treat migraines.

    How should I take it?

Nurtec ODT can be taken once daily as needed to treat an acute migraine, but no more than one tablet should be taken within a 24-hour period. For the prevention of episodic migraines, Nurtec ODT can be taken every other day. The safety of using more than 18 doses in a thirty (30) day period has not been established. Be sure to follow all instructions on the medication label and packaging.

What if I missed a dose?

If you're using Nurtec ODT to prevent migraines and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one as scheduled.

If you're using Nurtec ODT to treat a migraine, it should be taken only as needed, according to your doctor’s instructions. Do not take double or extra doses.

What are the special precautions before taking Nurtec ODT?

Inform your doctor about all your health conditions, as well as any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medications, vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are taking. This will help them assess whether Nurtec ODT is right for you.

Current and past Health Conditions: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any of the following.

  • Kidney problems
  • Liver problems

Liver Problems: Nurtec ODT should not be used if your liver is not functioning properly. If there are concerns about your liver health, your healthcare provider may conduct tests to assess whether it is functioning well enough to safely take this medication.

Individuals who are allergic to any of the ingredients should not take Nurtec ODT medication.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
