Why is Pro-Banthine prescribed?

Pro-Banthine (Propantheline) is an antispasmodic medication used to treat various conditions. It is prescribed to relieve spasm-related pain associated with certain intestinal disorders. Additionally, it can help prevent wetting (enuresis) in adults experiencing this issue. Propantheline is also used to manage gustatory sweating, a condition where excessive sweating occurs after eating or drinking, which can be linked to conditions such as diabetes.

What does it do?

Pro-Banthine contains propantheline, an antimuscarinic agent with anticholinergic properties, which means it blocks acetylcholine receptors. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in nerve cell communication and is involved in various functions, including stimulating involuntary smooth muscle contractions. Propantheline in Pro-Banthine blocks muscarinic receptors on smooth muscle throughout the body, preventing the action of acetylcholine. This action allows the smooth muscle to relax, helping to relieve muscle spasms in the stomach, intestines, and bladder. It is used to alleviate symptoms such as abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation associated with irritable bowel syndrome and other gastrointestinal conditions.

It also helps relieve the pain of renal colic. Additionally, since acetylcholine regulates body secretions like sweat, tears, and gastric fluids, blocking its action with propantheline reduces the production of these secretions, making it useful in treating conditions like hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and peptic ulcers.

Canadian Prescription Drug Store dispenses medications from our fully licensed and independently verified pharmacy partners around the world from Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mauritius.

Legal disclaimer: The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian online pharmacy by a U.S. consumer will violate the law. However, many legal experts disagree with the FDA's position in this regard stating that such importation is permitted under certain federal and state laws. Several State governments and consumer rights groups actively promote the importation of medications. The FDA itself provides the public information on how to import medications safely. Furthermore, there is no record of any US individual being prosecuted by the FDA for importing non-controlled prescription drugs for their personal use.
